Joe and I sketched out the meals for the next three weeks on a Coldwell Banker notepad garnished from his house-hunting travels in Los Angeles with Irene. With the sole exception of Marian Burros "Eating Well is the Best Revenge," all the cookbooks have been packed. This week's menu, August 14 through Aug 21st
On Friday August 22nd, the movers come, and we travel. We drive and we drive and we drive and then finally we arrive.
"Two pounds smoked or Polish sausage. One large can kidneey beans, drained. One large can whole tomatoes, tomotoes broken up. One can garbanzo beans. Carrots, already peeled and shaped for the lazy cook (me). Additional water or tomato juice as needed. All simmered for half an hour or so, with mushrooms and shredded cabbage and a handful of pasta added shortly before eating. Garlic bread. Red wine" Stay tuned, we'll let you know how it turns out.
