What's on the menu in April?

The dual/recipe sloppy joes from last week's menu were quite tasty, so we have a reprise. The Broccoli & Onion & potato puree from last week was fine, but Joe and I agreed it wasn't distinguished enough for the work involved. Besides, we like non-pureed broccoli just fine.

Sad to say, once again Irene was unable to help with the meal planning for the coming week; she stayed in Berkeley with her mother. Since she'll be coming back early next week, we gave her the macaroni and cheese assignment. Joe and I sketched out the week's meals on the back of an auto-repair receipt, sitting in the front seat of the Mitsubishi in the parking lot of the Shop and Save. We used the back of one of the Magic School Bus books as a clipboard to write on. With no cookbooks to refer to, our selections this week are drawn almost completely from past practice.
