February 1997

We wrapped up the month with this week, then went out to dinner at Stowe House, where Harriet Beecher Stowe lived when she wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin. It is now a good, overpriced restaurant, with somewhat pretentious service, and a gift shop selling miniature decorative quilts, sea bells, and greeting cards with a Maine theme. Two dogs, a German shepard and a large standard poodle, had joined their owners at the bar.
