Caffeine Containers . . . . . oct 2 2003 — amwalk80.dat

What can the chaff of urban refuse tell us? Aside from an indicator of the carelessness of people and the lack of the political well let alone an agency to clean it all up, there's another observation that pulls it together.

People are buying caffeinated drinks and throwing away the containers whenever they happen to finish with them. Waddle waddle waddle Toss! It used to be beer cans -- actually it probably still is beer cans -- but now the cardboard containers are everywhere. The cans are of marginal economic value; thus the homeless in the neighborhood extend us the courtesy of removing them and tidying up nicely.
