Columbus Transcontinental . . . . . jul 15 2003 — o26.dat

Here is what I have discovered about the Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway.

In additional to the other designations noted, Route 10 (in its entirety) has been officially designated the "Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway", although on the east coast, the corresponding sign is not on Route 10. It acquired this name in Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 106, Chapter 71, in 1976.

According to the fragment, the highway has this name in its entirety, although a sign is not to be found at its eastern terminus. The highway has many names: the Rosa Parks Freeway, for example, refers to that portion of it between the 405 and the 110.

Thanks to a dedicated reader for emailing this in. The mini-biography of Rosa Parks is well worth reading. One wonders if having a portion of Columbus' freeway (excuse me, Transcontinental Highway) named after her meant more to her than the Congressional Medal of Honor, which she was also awarded, or less.
