We have enjoyed this book tremendously. Of course, it is a cookbook. Entire meals are presented, with recipes and a game plan for each. These meals are quintessentially easy to prepare and provide unique taste treats not found elsewhere. Thank you, Marian Burros!

Ever since reading her series on 20-minute meals in the New York Times, I have been a fan of Marian Burros. The meals in 'Revenge' are designed for 30 minutes, and although they are recipes "for two," the portions work out great for two adults and an adventuresome 4-year-old or 5-year-old eater. They are easily modified to feed more people.

There's a good mix of vegetarian, fish, meat, and pasta recipes. And dare I say it? They are all quite healthful.

We'll probably have at least one meal a week from 'Revenge', so you might want to head over to Amazon and buy this book

20-Minute Menus

If eating well is the best revenge, the second-best revenge has got to be making really great meals in 20 minutes. Or less. There's a catch, though, in the timing -- someone else has to set the table.

Just as with the meals in 'Revenge,' an outline of the order of preparation guides you through the two or sometimes three recipes associated with a meal. And just the fact that the meal takes a miniscule part of your day means you can afford to be more adventurous. Under no circumstances would I ever consider devoting a large amount of time to the preparation of carrot pilaf with toasted pine nuts. But it turned out to be an incredibly delicious combination of subtle complementary flavours.

Sure, you can live without this cookbook. But if you take a jaunt over to Amazon.com and buy this cookbook now, you won't have to.

This is the best cookbook I have ever read. It's clear, inspiring, beautifully well-designed, thoughtful and fun. It will save you time as you become, in the kitchen and perhaps elsewhere, the magician you always knew you were.

This book is easily worth three times its twenty-five dollar list price. And at Amazon you get it for even less. So simmer on over to Amazon and read the great reviews of this wonderful cookbook
