The Tomato in America
by Andrew Smith

Unlike almost all other books reviewed at www.thedailychannel.com, I have not yet finished 'The Tomato in America.' (Perhaps this is as it should be?). However, some years after beginning it, I am perfectly willing to recommend it to any reader interested in the subject, because every time I pick it up I gain yet another fascinating bit of tomato-knowledge. I don't know what it was exactly about the last bout of tomato-reading that made me bump this deserving tome-ette up in the review schedule. Perhaps it was the no-holds-barred commercial competition over the tomato-pills. Maybe it was the reaction I get when I proudly admit I am reading "The Tomato in America".

Listen, if you have anything against peals of laughter, then this book might be just the remedy. It's a serious subject, and it's all in good taste. I promise I'll return to it when I finally wrap it up.
